Happy Halloween

Of course, in our home  with the Christmas card chaos, centerpieces/raffle stuff we are cutting for a charity dance, and the other items we cut to give away- we forgot about Halloween!  Here was a cute card, simple but filled with love for a first Halloween for a very adorable boy!

The leaves above are  fall colored and metallic.  They are textured and make the card "pop" but needed to be placed  on the card with a glue gun.  The cards had the pre-printed dot paper.

Special Birthday card for special friend

We love to use the Cricut Craft room to make "backers" for the cards.  See the scallop edge background on the front of the card? Using solid paper and then creating texture with the Cuttlebug is one way to make the front of the card "pop".  Or you can use a paper with a design - as we did here- to make an interesting background for the feature piece.  I use the craft room to make different sizes for the "backers"  and then we cut a lot at a time.  When it is time to create a card, it is fun to pick out which backer to use.   It also helps add dimension to the design.

Christmas cards and cricut go together!

PLEASE REMEMBER THOSE WHO SERVE OUR COUNTRY!

Megan made these cards while recuperating from a very complex and painful surgery.  They took a long time, but it is very important to remember those who sacrifice everything for us at home.  Veteran's Day is coming, please remember those who serve our country.

Congratulations to the new teachers we know!

Megan had surgery August 22 and had her left hand in a cast as she waited for the new school year to start.  That did not stop her from making cards for new  teachers!

day before surgery and still making cards

Megan is having hand surgery tomorrow and she was still making cards today.  She finished some birthday and anniversary cards and a special Baptism one.  These will be given out in the next few days.  Below is a special thank you note for the Borough President Jim Molinaro. Mr. Molinaro held an Autism Awareness night with the fun theme of "Beatles Blast".  The Richmond County Ballpark was packed with a very happy audience enjoying local talents.   The fun night even showcased two groups of special Staten Islanders who serenaded the crowd.  Megan sang with On Your Mark and I never heard "All You Need Is Love" sound so good.
Below is the picture of Megan this afternoon at work on her Cricut Expression and the thank you note.

Cards for Wounded Warriors

Megan finally completed some cards for the Wounded Warrior Project.  We can never make enough cards for this cause.  As she gets ready for surgery next week, we will try to work on another batch.

Get Well card

With her Cricut Expression, Megan used the Animal Antics cartridge to make the koala astronaut.  The spaceship was from the Everyday Paper Dolls.  The words were from Animal Antics and, I believe,  Beyond Birthdays.
